Overview
The dribble bar spreader was invented in Europe, where it is widely prohibited to apply manure outside of the growing season.
For manure haulers, spreading liquid manure has always been challenging. Spraying it on fields is unpleasant and not very reliable.
Additionally, excessive runoff and crop damage may result from this spreading technique. Thanks to Eric Hoover, liquid manure can now be hauled with less odor.
Compared to current splash plate spreaders, the amount from each row is more uniform. The Hoover manure distributors are fine-tuned to dispense the manure uniformly.
Manure is applied at the base of the plant. This is closer to where a developing crop uses it, making the manure application more like fertilizer (although there will still be some variance in nutrient content).
Even though low-disturbance manure injection into the soil is better, it requires more time and power. At times, the optimum method for applying manure to growing crops or forages is the speed of manure dribble bars.
